High Performance HPLC phase based on superficially porous core-shell silica  silica gel

The biphenyl phase is an advanced aromatic reverse phase with two conjugated phenyl rings for various separation mechanisms.

Properties
Separation mechanism: weakly hydrophobic, more polar and intensive aromatic ππ interactions. Reversed phase, normal phase, cation exchange or HILIC mode are possible.

Key features
Particularly sensitive to electron density and substitution patterns in aromatic molecules. Improved separation of structurally similar aromatic isomers.
High selectivity toward conjugated double bonds.  
Stable retention in highly aqueous mobile phases even with 100% water.

Recommended application areas
Suitable for acidic, basic, neutral and aromatic analytes e.g. benzene derivatives, PAHs, PAKs, positional isomers (ortho/meta/para), polar analytes with conjugated double bonds
