The autosampler provides the user with maximum flexibility while ensuring efficient sample consumption through three different injection modes:
- Full-loop - highest precision and reproducibility
- Partial-loop - variable injection volumes, ideal for dilution series
- µL-pickup - loss‑free injection of extremely small sample volumes
For high‑pressure applications, the autosampler is equipped with an ILD™ valve (Intermediate Loop Decompression). This rotor-stator valve design features a central port that depressurizes the system before the sample is aspirated into the loop. Hence, the sample is not diluted with solvent, leading to improved injection accuracy and reproducibility. The extremely fast valve switching minimizes pressure spikes, enhancing analytical performance while reducing mechanical stress and wear on the column.
In addition, the AS 6.1L supports precolumn derivatization and achieves exceptionally low carryover through a highly effective interior and exterior needle wash procedure.
Sample stability and reproducibility are maximized with the cool/heat option, which maintains the sample compartment at a defined temperature between 4 and 40 °C.
