Mixed-mode functionality with moderate hydrophobicity due to hexyl groups and aromatic and dipole interactions with the phenyl group.

Separation mechanism: Hydrophobic interaction and aromatic ππ interactions. Cation exchange mode is also possible.

Orthogonal selectivity toward C18 phases. A different elution order is likely.
