Valve for column switching and backflushing or 2D LC. DLC coated SSt stator and Vespel rotor seal.

This valve is used in combination with the VU 4.1 valve unifier.

The stator of this injection valve is made of stainless steel with a DLC coating (diamond-like carbon). In combination with a Vespel rotor seal the valve offers high durability and a pressure resistance of up to 1200 bar.

The valve is for analytical applications and has 8 ports. The rotor seal has a special symmetrical design.

This special column switching and backflushing valve allows to operate two alternating columns in a single UHPLC system. While one column is running the analysis, at the same time the second column can be backflushed and equilibrated in reverse flow direction. This is a major advantage for reducing matrix effects due to complex sample matrices typically found also in QC labs. Furthermore, this contributes to the overall runtime of the method.

Another application is 2D-LC, where 2 sample loops can be installed on one valve. Both loops are loaded in reverse flow direction than the elution flow path.

This combination does not exist.
